From November 26, 2024, to February 10, 2025, Baia Gallery’s space for private collections (Pavle Ingorokva Street 19a) will present a new project titled “Collection—XX Century. Avant-garde and Modernism.”

The exhibition will present the works of museum-status artists kept in private collections. Participating artists are David Kakabadze, Petre Otskheli, Elene Akhvlediani, Irakli Gamrekeli, Sergo Kobuladze, Kirill Zdanevich, Lado Gudiashvili, Shalva Kikodze, Avto Varazi, Peter Bliotkin; Vera Pagava and Felix Varlamishvili represent Georgian immigrant culture; Sergey Sudeikin and Vasily Shukhaev are foreign artists who worked in Georgia; Wassily Kandinsky is an international artist who is also part of the exhibition. The exhibition also includes photographs taken by David Kakabadze in the 1920s and books published by David Kakabadze and Lado Gudiashvili in Paris.

Most of these works are rarities and are shown for the first time. Exhibitions of this type are interesting for process research and help to show the importance of private collections.
