History of the Artwork<\/strong>:<\/strong><\/h5>\n

In 1998\u20131999, while in France, Kako Topuria created the composition \u201cBlue Smoke\u201d using felt-tip markers on an old French cotton bedsheet. Based on this composition, he commissioned master tapestry weaver Marina Janashia to weave the tapestry.<\/p>\n

The tapestry was woven entirely in a single piece using wool yarn dyed with natural pigments. Due to the complexity of the work, its large scale, and the multitude of details, the weaving process lasted ten years.<\/p>\n

The tapestry consists of one central scene and twelve smaller scenes, featuring up to 500 figurative images and numerous intricate details.<\/p>\n

In the context of 21 st-century contemporary Georgian art, this work holds a special place because of its artistic execution, technical mastery, and monumental scale.<\/p>\n
