Renowned St. Petersburg-based artist Alexander Florensky returns to Baia Gallery with his third solo exhibition.
For almost two decades, Georgia has been an essential part of his creative journey — not just a place, but a source of cultural exchange, deep friendships, and ongoing inspiration. Themes of Georgian identity, the alphabet, and especially Pirosmani, are deeply woven into his work.
A leading figure of the Soviet underground, Florensky has managed to become an integral part of contemporary Georgian art while preserving his unique artistic voice — bridging cultures with sensitivity and insight.
The new exhibition, Miscellaneous, was developed in his studio beneath Narikala Fortress. The series reflects his personal take on a “short history of art” — rich in layers and cultural meaning.
