Gogi Chagelishvili’s work is characterized by the introduction of a novel approach to traditional genres. His artistic world is known for its ironic and grotesque depictions of motifs, and a naive vision of nature.
The pictorial fabric of the artistic motifs that are spread out on the surface of his abstract, conditional landscapes is rich in nuanced elements and textures. Through the deformation and stylization of real objects, the artist manages to maximally simplify specific shapes and award them the quality of signs and symbols.
The artist’s attitude towards old objects becomes a source of inspiration for his remarkably interesting installations and works, which have been created through the symbolism and aesthetics of everyday objects.
