Baia Gallery’s private collections space (19A Ingorokva Street) has been transformed into the studio of artist Guranda Klibadze for the past month.

The gallery has become the artist’s working space, where Guranda Klibadze is creating a new exhibition project — The Garden of the Hesperides”. The project will unfold over three months and culminate in a month-long exhibition.

For the first time in a Georgian exhibition space, Baia Gallery presents a collaborative project between gallery and artist — revealing, live, the history behind the paintings’ creation and the making of an exhibition!

The artist is working on 14 monumental-format canvases at once — a mesmerizing spectacle. Expressive brushwork and virtuosic execution are the hallmarks of Guranda Klibadze’s distinctive artistic language, and here, moving between canvas after canvas, she brings The Garden of the Hesperides to life before our eyes.

How is a work born? What stages does a canvas pass through — from blank surface to finished form, from process to final piece? How does the artist move between her canvases, and how does her working style shape the final appearance of each piece?

Baia Gallery has collaborated with Guranda Klibadze since 2016. Over the past decade: nearly 100 works have appeared in group exhibitions; more than 60 works have sold to private collectors in Georgia and abroad; in 2024, her solo exhibition Kings and Royal Gardens was held at Baia Gallery, Tbilisi; and in 2023, at Bonhams London, her work Garden (Typographic paint on paper, 150 × 330 cm, 2022) sold for £4,590.

Her second solo exhibition, The Garden of the Hesperides, opens November–December 2026!

Every Sunday, you’re invited to witness the artist at work.
