Nino Kipshidze’s works particularly impress with their remarkable delicacy and simplicity, by use of which the author so skillfully manages to convey the texture of the fabric and utilize its pictorial potential. Notwithstanding the creation of figurative or abstract compositions by means of employing the principles of easel painting – where the fragments of fabrics of different textures and colors are applied like brush strokes on a velvet, linen or silk background – the main emotional charge that keeps visitors so mesmerized is achieved through the harmonious balance preserved between the decorative tectonics of textile and pictorial representations of landscapes, still lives or figurative compositions.

Decorative panels produced with the technique of application are very impressive and diverse, simultaneously evoking associations with the aesthetics of both Eastern (Chinese, Japanese, Islamic) and Western decorative or fine arts. At the same time, they are organically merged with the centuries-old traditions of Georgian textile art.
